At the 2020 Rebelle Rally, the first all-women off-road navigation rally in the United States, Mitsubishi made history by entering the Outlander PHEV, the first electric vehicle ever driven in the rally in the five years it’s been running.
Rebelle Rally teams consist of a driver and a navigator piloting their off-roader through the deserts of Nevada and California. 2020 was the first year Rebelle Rally allowed electrified vehicles, and Mitsubishi rushed to prove the capabilities of the Outlander PHEV.
The 2020 Outlander PHEV delivers an incredible fuel economy rating of 74 mpg combined, with up to 22 miles of all-electric range.* It’s also perfect for driving on rough terrain thanks to its Super All-Wheel Control, which comes with multiple drive modes for various terrain and driving situations and uses a system of smart technologies to deliver traction where it’s needed most.
For the second year in a row, Mitsubishi partnered with the nonprofit organization Record the Journey, which benefits veterans and works to ease the transition from active service to civilian life. Last year, Mitsubishi and Record the Journey modified a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross for disabled veteran driver, Rachael Ridenour, making Ridenour the first adaptive athlete to drive in the Rebelle Rally.
Today’s Mitsubishi lineup, including the efficient Outlander PHEV, is rugged enough to handle your next family adventure. Check out our selection online, then schedule your test drive at Mountaineer Mitsubishi in Beckley, West Virginia.
