It has been over a decade since the recession of the late 2000s. Many parts of the global economy are still recovering, including the automotive industry. One major sign that Mitsubishi Motors is making its recovery is that it has just enjoyed its best annual sales performance since 2007.
This was the seventh year in a row for sales growth. Mitsubishi sold 121,046 vehicles around the world — an increase of 2.5 percent over 2018 sales. The year ended on an especially good note, with a 10.3 percent jump in sales in December 2019, when compared to December 2018.
Much of the annual Mitsubishi sales growth is thanks to the Eclipse Cross. Mitsubishi sold 9,485 units in 2018. Sales increased to an impressive 19,661 in 2019, which is more than double that of 2018.
To celebrate this great news, Fred Diaz, President and CEO, MMNA, said, “We reached our seventh consecutive year of sales increases, relocated our national headquarters to Franklin, Tennessee, and added nearly 40 new dealer partners to our network, all marking the reinvention of Mitsubishi Motors in the U.S. And there’s more good news on the horizon, including all-new and substantially refreshed vehicles that will launch throughout the year ahead.”
One of the exciting updates for the 2020 model year is the redesigned 2020 Outlander Sport. This model is the first to showcase the new, dynamic Mitsubishi design language.
