The crossover segment is booming, and drivers are itching for sporty, efficient models that look good while remaining functional. The all-new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is one crossover that enthusiasts and drivers alike are eagerly anticipating. From the sleek design to streamlined technology, the new Eclipse Cross is bound to redefine the crossover segment in one fell swoop.
Based on the XR-PHEV and XR-PHEV II concepts from a few years back, the crossover brings a coupe-like profile with aggressive curves and an athletic stance. The grille and headlight look similar to other Mitsubishi models. Unique C-shaped lights are split in the rear window by a body-colored bar. The upcoming crossover bears some stylish similarity to the original Mitsubishi Eclipse sports car.
The crossover comes with a standard touchpad controller, head-up display, a center-touchscreen, smartphone integration software, and much more. Under the hood lies a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Drivers can upgrade to an available 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross will also come with standard all-wheel drive.
In terms of size, the upcoming Eclipse Cross is similar to the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
