Mitsubishi has achieved success this past year largely due to the release of its wildly popular Outlander nameplate. The Mitsubishi Outlander crossover, particularly the Sport variant, brought in a lot of sales growth for the company in 2015 due to the vehicle’s drastic makeover that featured over 100 improvements, making the Outlander more comfortable, powerful, safe, convenient, and durable than ever before. Now the company continues the trend of quality by rolling out the 2016 Outlander at dealerships, including here at Mountaineer Mitsubishi.
The new 2016 model is even cheaper than the previous year model, despite offering a larger amount of standard features and new upgrades. At $22,995 for the entry level ES trim in front-wheel drive, not only is the Outlander $200 cheaper than its previous iteration, but it’s also one of the least expensive crossovers in its segment. All-wheel drive and high trim levels are slightly more expensive, with the AWD GT model coming out to $30,995 – still an excellent deal, all things considered.
The Mitsubishi Outlander crossover also features Mitsubishi’s new dynamic design language “Dynamic Shield,” giving the new Outlander a fresher look, smoother driving experience, and more advanced safety features. The 2016 Outlander was revealed initially at the 2015 New York International Auto Show, raising anticipation for the new model year.
Mitsubishi is a company that is all about value. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that one of its vehicles was named the “Best Value on the Road.”
According to a Mitsubishi press release, the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander was named “Best Value on the Road.”
The prestigious title was granted to the Outlander during the 12th Annual Active Lifestyle Vehicle of the Year Awards in Chandler, Arizona.
The awards are granted to vehicles based upon their driving capabilities and their economic value. The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander combines both of these aspects together to create the perfect vehicle for any active driver.
“It’s exciting to see the 2016 Outlander resonate so well among this group of active people,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president of Mitsubishi Motors North America. “We’ve positioned this vehicle to be both versatile and a good value, so to see the car recognized as such supports our objective to give consumers what they want in a CUV.”

The updated 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV was on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September – though the model had already been revealed elsewhere. Regardless, spectators were able to check out the new vehicle, which has received some serious cosmetic upgrades.
The main exterior difference between the 2016 Outlander and its predecessor is a totally redesigned front fascia, giving the vehicle a bold, aggressive look that counters the rest of its roundness. As for the actual driving, the new Outlander is said to offer significantly better handling, while producing much less noise and fewer vibrations. And of course, the 2016 PHEV model is more fuel-efficient than ever.
The 2016 Outlander PHEV will hit dealerships sometime in the next year, so if you’re interested in getting behind the wheel of one, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us here at Mountaineer Mitsubishi.

Just over a month after the pricing of the redesigned Outlander was announced, Mitsubishi has more news on the new model: due to the lowered MSRP and great value, Cars.com placed the 2016 Mitsubishi on top of Cars.com’s list of most affordable three-row crossovers.
The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander was redesigned from the 2015 model, adding over one hundred design and engineering improvements to create a more stylish, safer, and quieter SUV, all with an MSRP below the price of the 2015 Outlander.
“We designed the 2016 Outlander to be an unmatched value in its segment, so it’s no surprise to us that it leads the way on the Cars.com list of most affordable 3-row crossovers,” said Don Swearingen, MMNA Executive Vice President. “From its long list of features, to available advanced safety technologies and a new eye-catching design, the seven passenger Outlander is a leader in value and reliability.”

Did you think you had seen all Mitsubishi has to offer? Think again. The automaker is switching it up, with its new design language being featured for the first time on a production vehicle. The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander made its grand entrance at the New York International Auto Show earlier this month, and we like what we see.
“The 2016 Outlander has an eye-catching design aesthetic inside and out, and with its long list of engineering upgrades the new Outlander literally looks, drives and feels like an entirely new vehicle, making it an even more compelling value than before,” said Mitsubishi Motors North America executive vice president, Don Swearingen.
Mitsubishi designers and engineers left no panel unturned and no surface uncovered when it came to enhancing the vehicle. In fact, more than 100 modifications and improvements were made.
The front design of the new Outlander bears the name “Dynamic Shield.” More than an aesthetic, it is designed to better protect the vehicle and its passengers. Inside, even the steering wheel has been redesigned and rear seating reconfigured. Advanced technology is used throughout to make the vehicle safer and more comfortable.
We at Mountaineer Mitsubishi will, of course, be sure to keep you posted on the model’s arrival in our showroom. We can’t wait to get a closer look at the new Mitsubishi.
Get ready: Mitsubishi has announced it will unveil the refreshed 2016 Outlander at the upcoming 2015 New York Auto Show!
The reveal is expected to be a big one for multiple reasons. First, the Outlander consistently performs as the brand’s best-selling vehicle, and it’s a favorite here at Mountaineer Mitsubishi, so there’s no doubt a lot of people are anticipating the next one.
Second, the 2016 model comes with a new design that will represent “the new face of Mitsubishi Motors.” Early spy shots have hinted at changes for both the front and rear fascia, possibly in the vein of the Outlander PHEV Concept-S previously shown at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
There are also rumors that the restyled Outlander’s launch will coincide with the US debut of its plug-in hybrid counterpart. We guess we’ll just have to see about that! Remember to tune in to the New York Auto Show on April 2nd at 11:30 am ET!
