When you’ve been around for a century, you learn a few things. Like that success doesn’t always come easily, and life is full of high and low points. But with a little hard work and perseverance, you can always turn things around.
Wisdom like that serves as inspiration as Mitsubishi plans for the future. The automaker, who turns 100 this year, has had its struggles over the last decade. It went through a low point in 2009 where sales were down to 53,986 units. But what’s a single decade compared to a whole century? Since then, Mitsubishi has been making a comeback, now with four consecutive years of increased sales.
The company’s recent alliance with Nissan will influence its future, no doubt. But it’s Mitsubishi’s CUVs that are really going to lead the manufacturer away from hard times. The Mitsubishi Outlander and the smaller Outlander Sport have retained excellent standing in the automotive market. And come 2018, they’re getting a fresh redesign.
The new models will boast new, edgy design plus excellent AWD systems and loads of features for the money. These new principles are what Mitsubishi expects will continue to increase their sales. That, plus the new middle-sized CUV that will come out in 2018 as well. The new CUV is to feature a turbocharged engine and the latest in technology and safety, also for an irresistible price. For Mitsubishi, the best is yet to come.
