If you ever take a trip to Europe, you’ll find that SUVs and especially pickup trucks are not all that common. By European standards, those kinds of vehicles are too large and unwieldy to really pick up in the market, which makes it truly exceptional that the Mitsubishi L200—also known as the Triton—is actually something of a hit on the other side of the big pond.
According to Carbuyer, the L200 is flat-out the best vehicle in its segment, with best-in-class figures on fuel economy, CO2 emissions, weight, and maneuverability. Under the hood, a turbocharged 2.4-liter diesel engine produces up to 178 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque, and a Super Select 4WD-II system lets you pick up to four different driving modes on the fly.
The only flaw we can find about the Mitsubishi L200 pickup is that it isn’t offered in the United States. Sure, the competition would be fiercer, but we think it would do quite well at Mountaineer Mitsubishi. What do you think? Should Mitsu port the L200 to America? Let us know in the comments below!by
